Mr Naren Ramisetty FRCS T&O
Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon
Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon — North Tees & Hartlepool / Teesside
Mr Naren Ramisetty is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee problems across all ages — from sports injuries in younger, active patients to arthritis care and joint replacement. He also has specialist expertise in hip arthroscopy for young-adult hip conditions. He has practised since 1997 and was appointed a consultant at North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust in March 2015.
Areas of expertise (what he treats)
- Knee sports injuries (meniscus tears, cartilage damage, patella dislocations)
- ACL and multi-ligament reconstruction
- Knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) and meniscal repair
- Partial and total knee replacement
- Knee osteotomy (realignment surgery)
- Hip arthroscopy and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in young adults
These reflect his day-to-day clinical interests in both NHS and private practice.
Training and fellowships
Mr Ramisetty completed advanced sub-specialty fellowships that shape his practice today:
- Sports hip arthroscopy with Mr Richard Villar (Cambridge)
- Advanced knee arthroscopy with Professor David Barrett (Southampton)
- Sports knee surgery fellowship with Dr Nicholas Mohtadi (University of Calgary, Canada)
This combination allows him to manage the full spectrum of knee problems and hip-preservation issues in active patients.
Mr. Ramisetty’s Clinics
NHS care
Mr Ramisetty consults and operates at University Hospital of North Tees and University Hospital of Hartlepool within the Trauma & Orthopaedics team. Patients benefit from a multi-disciplinary pathway that includes anaesthetists, specialist nurses, extended scope practitioners and physiotherapists.
Private clinics
- Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, Stockton-on-Tees (regular clinics; knee and hip arthroscopy, ligament surgery, joint replacement)
- Tees Valley Hospital (Ramsay Health Care), Middlesbrough
Clinic times vary; some Thursday morning clinics are available at Nuffield Health Tees.
Mr Ramisetty’s approach is to:
- Listen and diagnose clearly – combining a thorough clinical assessment with imaging when needed;
- Start with the least invasive option – individualised physiotherapy, injections or bracing where appropriate;
- Offer precise surgical solutions – from keyhole repairs and ligament reconstruction to joint preservation (osteotomy) and joint replacement, matched to your goals and activity level.
This pathway mirrors modern best practice and his fellowship training in hip and knee preservation.
